Good Dog Art: A Review
No, I'm not speaking about HM's paintings this time.
Good Dog Art showcases the beautiful work of Nancy Schutt. Her tag: every dog deserves good art! It's true! HM shares that sentiment with Nancy!
Nancy creates wonderful illustrative pieces that look like they've been pulled from a story book. An adventure just waiting to be told.
Nancy says of her subject matter...
"For an artist, dogs provide an endless supply of subject matter. They tell stories. They are beautiful, comical, intelligent, and worthy of admiration- worthy of a tribute. And they have no ego involvement in the end product.
I love dogs because they have a joyful countenance, they don't hold grudges, and are shameless about their tastes and preferences. If we don't interfere, they feel good about themselves all the time."
For an original painting, her prices start at $450. She also offers some of her work as Giclee prints on canvas. They start at $255, with 10% of all proceeds going towards these dog charities:
DINE - www.dogsinneedeverywhere.org
Pit Bull Rescue Central - www.pbrc.net
Dogs Deserve Better
Underdog Dog Rescue
Now buying original art is an investment, for those pups who aren't ready for that kind of committment, Nancy offers a variety of products in which to enjoy Good Dog Art!

Product Review: The DogPause Bowl (You can WIN one!)
Ever find yourself wolfing down your meal? Do you feel sick or get an upset tummy or ever gag a bit after? Well, we were sent a pawesome new food bowl that can help!
The DogPause bowl is set up into four small sections that break up the food and force the dog to take his/her time going from section to section to eat it's meal.
From their website:
The DogPause dog bowl works to slow down the pace of eating and aid with portion control in the following ways:Check me out, testing the DogPause bowl.
- Divides the bowl into 4 feeding zones
- Each feeding zone is 1/2 cup in capacity and designed to "block" the dog from putting his full snout into the bowl; this slows down eating pace as your dog needs to use his tongue for each bite
- After your dog finishes each zone, he must re-position himself for the next zone
- The bowl is designed to slide a little on the floor, further slowing down the dog as he needs to re-position for each bite

WIN a DogPause Bowl!!

Product Review: PAWZitive Therapy!
Since the temperature is rapidly dropping where I live and the snow, ice and salt seems to be accumulating, like many dogs, my paws are feeling it!
It was a blog entry by my pal Johann that set my human mom in motion! He barked about having sensitive paws to the snow and cold, and now wears booties to protect his paws.
While my own paws seem to stand up fine in the cold temperatures, it's the increase in salt and walking in deep snow that has started to bother me, and dry out the pads on my paws. When the snow gets caked in between my toes I pull up my paw and hobble until my human helps clear it out.
So off to the store she went last night in search for a solution. She found it.
This roll-on stick is great! It's all natural, yes, made of hemp and did a great job of protecting the pads on my paws last night! She just rubbed it on my pads, and off we went. I walked in deep snow, the cold sidewalk, complete with slush and salt and I didn't raise my paws once! She did the same thing this morning, and I was just fine!So if you are not ready to don the boots just yet, try one of many conditioning and protection sticks out on the market!
"A convenient way to provide year-round soothing, moisturizing relief for cracked pads and skin abrasions in addition to shielded protection from ice, salt and rough surfaces. The benefits of EFA’s, and especially GLA, for healthy skin makes hemp seed oil a highly effective skin care additive. Hemp oil contains an unusually high concentration of EFA’s, making it an ideal natural ingredient for treating dry skin and abrasions. Hemp’s lipid constituents allow it to permeate through intact skin to nourish cells directly while also carrying therapeutic substances with it into the skin. More than 75% of its fatty acids are polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (EFA’s). These impart excellent emollient, lubricating, moisturing and protection properties to the pads of both cats and dogs."

Online Pet Communities
Since the pet industry has exploded, online pet community websites are on the rise. As many of you know, I have my own page on Dogster. It's a great forum to get to discuss everything dog: health, sports, shopping. Upload your favourite photos and videos, give other dogs cute stars and rosettes to show you care. They are also very informative providing a daily blog on hot dog topics.
Another great site to check out is PetPop. On PetPop you can build your own community and keep your pet friends all in one place. Meet new pets in your area and check out other breeds like you from all around. See who has a top rated profile, look through top rated photos and videos. The cool thing about the PetPop pages is that other pets from the website can leave great comments (including photos and clip art) on the pets page...to leave a cute message or tell them that they like their page. The pets human can also have a section on the site to post some brief info about themselves too.
The team that has created PetPop are all pet lovers and that’s the main reason why it was created. The site is for pet lovers by pet lovers. You can't be mad at that!
Pawspot is also trying to give Dogster a run for its dog cookies. It's set up as an online community for pets and people. The pet pages aren't as detailed, but the search is great as it allows you to find pets in your area, for potential meet-up situations. They have great forum discussion threads set up with a variety of topics, and nice gallery with photo contests to check out the great pets.
So if you don't already have a site out there for your pup, what are you waiting for??
