Vick's Dogs cover Sports Illustrated year-end issue!
Good News for the Bad Newz dogs! Check out this article from Sports Illustrated on the comeback stories of some of Michael Vick's Pits.
On the cover is Jasmine - one of the dogs both HSUS and PETA wanted to be put down for being "past rehabilitation"! Glad she was given a second chance!
To support animal-care groups that helped with the rescue and rehabilitation of the Vick dogs cited in the article, go to their respective Web sites: www.aspca.org, www.badrap.org, www.bestfriends.org, www.recycledlove.org and www.ourpack.org/.

Doggy PJ's help keep me warm!
So we've had a coldsnap here and as much as I LOVE being outside at the park...I've got very short fur, that is quite sparse on my legs and belly....so I shiver and ask to come home more quickly than I like to. So what's a dog to do?
Get some fleece PJ's!! (or body suit as I like to call it...a bit more "manly!")
HM found a wonderful lady who makes them for dogs, and ordered one up for me! She took my measurements and custom fit it just for me!

Adopt a Pet - Save a Life
Getting an unexpected new puppy under the Christmas tree is unfortunately one of the many ways dogs find themselves in shelters after the holidays. But if your family has decided on pet adoption, and is ready for the full commitment, 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com had CHANGED it's web address and name to: www.adoptapet.com
They are North America's largest non-profit pet adoption website and list 100,000 pets who need a home today, plus work with over 6,000 animal shelters all over the U.S. and Canada.
Best of all, their non-profit website is also totally free for animal shelters and the public to use.

I made it in the paper today!
OMD! Something furtastic happened yesterday for HM and myself! We were photographed for the local paper! HM is exhibiting her work again this weekend at PawsWay - and one of the local papers, the Toronto Sun, was doing an article about the event and interview HM!!! Then they sent a photographer to our apartment to take pictures of her work...and of ME!!
I was such a good dog, as I only barked at the photographer once! Check out the funny photo the photographer took of me.

Etsy Love: Bumble Belly Designs
HM here:
What can I say about Bumble Belly Designs....LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Not even sure how I found myself on this page, but am so glad I did! The "Walkies" Leash Rack was something I just fell in love with! It's definitely something that every dog owner should have! I usually keep mine hanging on a door knob, or tossed hap-hazardly in the hall closet! Well no more! What's great about Etsy sellers is most of them offer their goods as custom-made jobs too! So if you see a product (like the leash rack) but want your own twist to it (I wanted a Manchester version of course!) they are more than happy to oblige!
My communications with Amy at Bumble Belly was fantastic! She was prompt with responses, and VERY patient with my requests and revisions!! (THANK YOU AGAIN!!). Once I had decided the design was what I wanted she was so quick to have the final piece created and listed for me!
I absolutely LOVE my "Walkies" leash rack, and highly recommend shopping from Bumble Belly Designs! With Christmas just around the corner, I can't imagine a nicer gift for that dog lover in your life! (or just treat yourself to one!!).

Helping Pets this Holiday Season
Hey pups - just wanted to bark to you about two great sites. This holiday season especially can be tough for pets in need and if you wanted to help make the season bright, a donation to either of these groups would be FURTASTIC!
The Morris Animal Foundation has launched an unprecedented $30 million effort to cure canine cancer within a dog's lifetime – the next 10 to 20 years. World–renowned veterinary scientists and cancer specialists agree that this MAF–led effort will not only save countless dogs from suffering and premature death, but should also help produce breakthroughs in the prevention, treatment, and cures of human cancers – in particular childhood cancers.
The Banfield Pet Hospital is a private veterinary practice with hospitals located in many communities across the country. Central to their mission is a commitment to providing quality, loving and wise care to Pets and their owners.
Banfield has teamed up with the Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) for a national Pet food drive called Season of Suppers. Banfield hospitals across the nation are collecting Pet food at their locations and donating it to their local MOWAA program to feed Pets of senior citizens that receive meals.
Go to your local Banfield from now until December 31 to make your donation!

Angel needs an Angel!
Hey pups...POP (Power of the Paw) is needed for a wonderful pup in NYC! Please take a moment to visit sweet Angel's blog and read her full story. She was found on the streets of New York, and had been left for dead after being badly hurt. Her rescuer got her to the vet and saved her life!!
If you, or someone you know can help her, with vet expenses or rescues to help find her a forever home, that would be furtastic!!!
If you would like to donate to the ongoing medical care of Angel, you may do so via PayPal. After logging in to PayPal, click on the ‘Send Money’ tab and enter the following email address: lilangelrescue@aol.com.
